Smithson Valley High School senior Clarissa Wallace discovered her career path as a sophomore when she chose the health science CTE program. She has found success through SkillsUSA as the reigning two-time state champion in practical nursing as well as the two-time silver medalist in the national competition.

Canyon Lake High School Agriculture students celebrated Gotcha Day by welcoming their animal “projects,” fully prepared to embark on a school year filled with grooming, feeding, cleaning, and competitive showing on their Path to Success.

Nine Comal ISD students are among the top 2 to 3 percent to earn the title of 2025 Outstanding Performer because of their performances at the Texas UIL State Solo-Ensemble Contest. From percussion, euphonium and trumpet to music theory, vocal and piano solos, they distinguished themselves as exemplary musicians.

Comal ISD's Fall Art Show featured art pieces created by students in kinder through 12th grades from 10 campuses in the Canyon Lake High School and Davenport High School feeder patterns. Three artists received the Superintendent's Excellence Award for Art, hand selected by Superintendent Dr. John E. Chapman III.

Students in 8th through 12th grades are invited to Comal ISD's annual College, Career and Military (CCM) Fair 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Davenport High School. See the list of colleges, businesses and military recruiters who will be on hand.

This summer, 49 Comal ISD students participated in the Texas Boys State and Texas Bluebonnet Girls State leadership programs. They immersed themselves in government by creating their own, running for office, hosting elections, drafting legislation, passing legislation and more.

Two Comal ISD third-grade students have been selected for the prestigious National Math Stars program this year and will receive more than $100,000 in mentorship, enrichment opportunities and resources for the next 10 years.

With 30 years of experience as an educator, Spring Branch Middle School Principal Sally Bratton was named the Region 20 Outstanding Middle School Principal of the Year for her exemplary performance and outstanding leadership.

Make plans to attend the Comal ISD Marching Band Exhibition starting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Cougar Stadium at Canyon High School. Enjoy performances from all five district high school marching bands while supporting scholarships for local students.

Comal ISD is hosting a districtwide fall job fair 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, at its Support Services building, 1404 IH 35 North, New Braunfels. All interested applicants are encouraged to attend.
